The Russian military attempted to land on Kozatsky Island near Kherson.
The speaker of the Defense Forces of southern Ukraine, Vladislav Voloshin, spoke about this on air at a national telethon, Radio Liberty reports today, December 27.
Voloshin noted that “in the Dnieper direction the enemy continues both assault and shelling.”
Over the past day (December 26 – ed.), he continued to try to land on Kozatsky Island. However, he did not experience success, was unable to land, and suffered losses in equipment,” he said.
Voloshin noted that among the enemy’s losses were boats, watercraft and personnel.
The islands at the mouth of the Dnieper are in the so-called gray war zone. The Russian invaders are trying to take control over them, planning to further gain a foothold on the right bank of Kherson.
