“China understands the basis of the conflict in Ukraine,” said Russian Ambassador to China Igor Morgulov.
Chinese leader Xi Jinping will visit Russia in 2025. This is what Russian Ambassador to China Igor Morgulov said, Russian media reported on Friday, December 27.
“Regarding specific bilateral measures, I can say that the corresponding plans are being actively developed, which is no secret, in terms of priority, is that the leader of the Republic of China is expected in Russia next year,” said the diplomat .
Morgulov also said that China, which has indirectly condemned Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine for three years, “understands the basis of the conflict as they face many of the same challenges – the United States and its allies are increasing pressure on China in the Asia-Pacific region.”
According to the ambassador, Russia and China need to “jointly respond to the policy of the US,” because further counteraction to “the two deterrents that the West is trying to implement against Russia and China” allegedly depends on these two countries.
Recall that Russian leader Vladimir Putin visited China a few days before the invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. In March 2023, Xi Jinping visited Russia. In May of the same year, Putin again visited China, where the country’s leaders signed a statement on a “new era of cooperation.”
