The sent devices ensure the stable operation of the Rivne NPP reactor and allow it to be regulated.
The Czech company Plzeňská Škoda JS from the ČEZ group secretly supplied Ukraine with eight new drives for nuclear power plant reactors in the Rivne region. Novinky reported this on Wednesday, December 25.
“Due to Russia’s repeated attacks on energy infrastructure, we are only reporting this now that we have delivered the last shipment to its destination,” said Karel Samec, a spokesman for the engineering company in Pilsen.
The instruments sent should ensure the stable operation of the reactor and allow it to be controlled, which will help ensure a stable electricity supply in Ukraine.
Another company in this group, ÚJV Řež, produced and supplied a special cable weighing 13 tons to strengthen the reactor containment building.
In addition, Škoda JS sent 76 storage units to Rivne NPP. The main part of the equipment has already been implemented. Spare devices are intended to be replaced as needed.
“The amount of the contract is confidential information in accordance with the wishes of the client,” said the journalists.
ŠKODA JS is the only manufacturer in the world that can provide this type of drive to the Ukrainian nuclear power plant. Another alternative manufacturer is only Russia.
The company hopes to expand cooperation, with the South Ukrainian NPP. ŠKODA JS is actively working in connection with the announced expansion plan for the Khmelnitsky Nuclear Power Plant.
As we have already written, further support for Ukraine remains a key task for the Czech Republic’s foreign and security policy.
