The US President-elect believes that Cabrera will play an important role in strengthening international partnerships.
Miami-Dade County Commissioner Kevin Marino Cabrera has been nominated by Donald Trump to serve as US Ambassador to Panama. Reuters wrote this on Wednesday, December 25, with reference to the Truth Social social network.
“I am pleased to announce that Kevin Marino Cabrera will be the United States Ambassador to the Republic of Panama, a country that takes us to the Panama Canal more than anything imaginable,” Trump wrote.
Trump wrote that Kevin is a fighter for the principle of “America First.” The official currently serves as the Miami-Dade County Commissioner and Vice Chairman of the International Trade Consortium. Trump believes that his candidate “will play an important role in stimulating economic growth and building international partnerships.”
“Few people understand Latin American politics as well as Kevin – he will do a fantastic job representing our country’s interests in Panama,” Trump said.
Previously, President-elect Donald Trump threatened to demand that the Panama Canal be returned to Washington’s control if transit duties for American ships were not reduced.
