At least 12 people have died due to an explosion at a military factory located in western Turkey.

An explosion occurred at an explosives factory in Turkey. At first, 12 people died and three others were injured. CNN Turk reported this on Tuesday, December 24.

“According to preliminary data, 12 people died and three people were injured as a result of an explosion that occurred at an explosives factory in the Karesi region,” said the governor of Balikesir province, Ismail Ustaoglu.

According to him, the explosion happened in the production workshop of the plant, but the cause remains unknown.

After the explosion, the building collapsed. Rescue operations are ongoing to determine how many people may still be in the plant.

“An area inside the factory where the gunpowder capsules were made exploded. There were many workers there… Almost 1,000 people were working,” said Keteili district head Baki Eser.

We remind you that last summer there was a powerful explosion at a weapons factory in Poland, as a result of which an employee died.
