The Uman City Council at its session today, December 23, decided to transfer the T-34 tank and cannon removed from its pedestals as part of decommunization to the needs of the defense forces.
Uman mayor Irina Pletneva reported this on her Facebook page.
At the session, a decision was unanimously made: to transfer for use to the soldiers of the National Guard of Ukraine the monuments that were removed from the pedestal in accordance with the law “Condemnation of the Nationalist and Nazi Totalitarian Regimes,” Pletneva noted.
I am convinced that the technology will benefit our warrior defenders, she added.
A real T-34 tank weighing 32 tons, taken from one of the military units, was installed on a pedestal in Uman in 1974. It was dismantled at the beginning of November this year.
