President-elect of the United States of America (USA) Donald Trump responded to criticism from Democrats about the growing political influence on him of billionaire Elon Musk and assured that the businessman will not become the head of the White House. NBC News wrote this on Sunday, December 22.
Trump made the corresponding statement in a speech at the Turning Point USA AmericaFest conference in Phoenix.
The publication explained that the businessman helped Trump reject a bipartisan bill proposed by Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson to fund the government.
“Musk, who owns the popular social network X (Twitter), tweeted more than 100 times his objections to the initial spending agreement. Some politicians, mainly Democrats, saw it as the businessman using his influence through the media to shape policy in the United States during Trump’s second term, after which Democratic Party representatives began calling the billionaire “President Musk,” the report said.
Trump assured that Musk will not be the President of the United States, because he cannot be one because of the Constitution, which states that only a citizen of this country from birth can be the President of the United States. But Musk was born in South Africa and became a United States citizen in 2002.
“No, he’s not going to be president, I can tell you I’m safe,” Trump stressed.
