Donald Trump believes his nominations will help make the US Department of Defense “great again”.
Newly elected US President Donald Trump has said he intends to appoint billionaire Steven Feinberg as US Deputy Secretary of Defense. Reuters wrote this on Sunday, December 22.
Feinberg was a member of the intelligence advisory board during Trump’s first term from 2017 to 2021, the agency said.
Trump noted that Feinberg, a billionaire and successful businessman, would help make the Pentagon “great again.” He added that he should work with Pete Hegseth, who was previously nominated for the post of defense minister.
“There have been questions about Pete Hegseth regarding allegations of alcohol abuse and sexual behavior, but Hegseth denies any wrongdoing,” the agency recalled.
Stephen Feinberg is known as the founder of the investment company Cerberus Capital Management, which was created in 1992. His fortune is estimated by Forbes magazine at $5 billion.
In addition, Trump nominated Elbridge Colby for the position of undersecretary of defense for policy, which is the third post in the Pentagon.
“Colby, known as China Hawk, was a senior US Department of Defense official during Trump’s first term,” the reporters pointed out.
US President-elect Donald Trump has announced the appointment of television producer Mark Burnett as US special envoy to the UK.
Apparently, Trump previously nominated billionaire and space tourist Jared Isaacman to be the director of NASA. And the politician identified the CEO of Truth Social, Devin Nunes, as the head of the US Presidential Intelligence Advisory Committee.
