Zurabishvili has been in his post for less than a week. The head of government “advised” him to avoid meetings with the opposition and not to announce new parliamentary elections.
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said President Salome Zurabishvili should step down at the end of her term in office. He threatened her with jail if she refused. SOVA reported this on Sunday, December 22.
Kobakhidze stressed that Zurabishvili had less than a week left in office and advised him to avoid meetings with the opposition and not to announce new parliamentary elections.
“Some European politicians and officials believe that a lot can happen before December 29, but I am confident that nothing significant will change,” the prime minister said.
Kobakhidze threatened that if he disobeyed, the president could be sued.
We remind you that on December 14, the presidential election was held in Georgia. The electoral college elected Mikhail Kavelashvili as president. The current leader, Salome Zurabishvili, does not recognize the election results.
