Aleksandar Vucic said he accidentally learned about the Slovak Prime Minister’s planned visit to Moscow, where he will speak about gas supplies against the backdrop of Ukraine’s refusal to resume transit.
Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico will go to Moscow on Monday for talks with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin about Russian gas supplies. Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic spoke about it, Euronews reports.
“As I have unofficially learned, it is certain that on Monday Robert Fico will go to Putin – as the head of a country of the European Union, I don’t need to tell you what this may bring from other European leaders from the EU, and you see how complicated everything is.” , Vucic said on TV Happy.
Before this, Fico told the Slovak media about a conversation with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky about the transit of Russian gas through Ukraine.
“We have disagreements on the issue of gas transit through Ukraine. I asked him if he is ready to transit gas other than Russian,” said the head of the Slovak government.
Zelensky, according to him, ruled out the possibility that Ukraine can transit gas. “He asked if we could consider paying for the gas to finance the war,” Fico described the conversation.
On December 19, Zelensky told a European Council meeting that Ukraine would not accept any transit options that would allow Russia to continue making money.
Fico also threatened Ukraine with “measures” for stopping gas transit from Russia to Europe next year.
