Every day the Russians are trying to cross the Dnieper near Kherson and form a new bridgehead on the right bank.
This was reported on December 21 by the Defense Forces.
They carry out their attempts under the cover of airstrikes, artillery shelling, weather conditions, and also use aerosol camouflage.
On the air of the United News telethon, speaker Vladislav Voloshin said that on December 20, the occupiers increased shelling from artillery and MLRS on the right bank of the Kherson region. During the shelling, a sabotage and reconnaissance group of Russians of several people tried to cross the Dnieper in the area of the Antonovsky Bridge.
The defense forces worked ahead of the curve, and the enemy did not even reach the middle of the Dnieper.
In addition to airstrikes and artillery shelling, the occupiers use weather conditions and aerosol camouflage to get to the right bank of the Dnieper.
The enemy is most active in the Kozatsky area. The Russians have also been trying to land on Bolshoi Potemkin Island for several days. The occupiers attempted to penetrate the island of Zabych.
The military man believes that these are more likely reconnaissance operations than offensive ones, in order to try to gain a foothold in the future.
On December 20, more than 40 settlements of the right bank of the Kherson region, including Kherson itself, came under enemy fire and airstrikes. Two people were killed and 11 more were injured.
Russian troops hit critical and social infrastructure, residential areas of settlements in the region, including damaging 34 high-rise buildings and 29 private houses. The occupiers also damaged gas pipelines, outbuildings, garages, storage facilities and private cars.
