The bodies of 503 dead defenders were returned to Ukraine. This was announced by the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War on Friday, December 20.
Returning defenders include:

403 soldiers from the Donetsk direction;

12 from the direction of Lugansk;
-
57 from the direction of Zaporozhye.

31 from the morgue in Russia.
The dead defenders were returned as a result of the joint work of employees of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, the Central Directorate of Civil-Military Cooperation of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine , Ministry of Internal Affairs, Human Rights Ombudsman, Commissioner for Persons Missing in Special Circumstances, State Emergency Service, and other structures under the assistance of the International Committee of the Red Cross.

As you know, Ukraine and Russia regularly exchange bodies of military personnel. The last time such an exchange took place was on November 29. Then they were able to return the body of 502 defenders. In two years of work, it is possible to bring home the bodies of more than 5,000 Ukrainian soldiers.
