Russia attacked Ukraine at night and in the morning with a variety of missiles and drones of various types.
On the night of December 20, the enemy launched a strike with an Iskander-M ballistic missile from the Rostov region, a Kh-59/69 aircraft-controlled missile from the airspace of the Kursk region, and 65 Shahed-type attack UAVs and other types of drones from Bryansk, Millerovo, and Orel. and Primorsko-Akhtarskaya.
Aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups of the Air Force and the Defense Forces of Ukraine were involved in repelling the air attack. In the Kursk, Poltava, Sumy, Kyiv, Chernigov, Cherkassy, Dnepropetrovsk and Zaporozhye regions, 40 Shaheds were shot down. Another 20 UAVs were lost.
Due to the drone attack, private and apartment buildings, medical institutions, warehouses and farms in the Dnepropetrovsk, Sumy, Kyiv and Kharkov regions were hit.
The air force also commented on the missile attack on Kyiv. The capital was attacked by five Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles, which the enemy launched from the Voronezh and Bryansk regions. The air defense managed to destroy all the missiles. Unfortunately, debris from the downed missiles caused damage and destruction in five districts of the capital. There are also dead and wounded.
Let us remind you that as a result of air defense work, fragments of Russian missiles fell in the Goloseevsky, Solomensky and Shevchenkovsky districts. Rescuers found the body of one victim at the site of enemy shelling. Nine people were injured, four had to be hospitalized.
