The defenders of Ukraine hit another strategic target of the Russian occupiers.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced this today, December 19.
“Tonight, the forces and means of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Security Service of Ukraine, in cooperation with other components of the Defense Forces, inflicted a defeat on the infrastructure and production capacity of Novoshakhtinsky Petroleum Products Plant JSC, in the Rostov region,” the message states.
It is noted that the affected plant is the only refinery operating in the Rostov region. He:
- used to meet the needs of the Russian armed forces;
- Specializes in the production of fuel oil, furnace, forensic and diesel fuel, straight-run gasoline. The design refining capacity is 7.5 million tons of oil per year.
A fire is confirmed in the area of the facility, namely at the catalytic cracking unit ELOU-AVT-2.5.
