The EU is considering sending up to 100 thousand troops to Ukraine – media

European countries are discussing the possibility of sending a military contingent to Ukraine if the war with Russia ends or freezes. This was reported by Reuters sources.

Yes, the minimum size of such a mission could be 40 thousand military personnel, but to effectively contain Russia, according to experts, 100 thousand army personnel are required.

Military personnel from Germany, France, Italy, Great Britain and Poland can form the basis of the mission.

The format and size of the contingent at the discussion stage: Italy proposes a peacekeeping mission under the auspices of the UN, while France and Ukraine insist on containing Russia.

Analysts note that US involvement at least at the intelligence level is necessary, however, Trump has previously rejected the idea of ​​sending the US military.

The deployment of troops, experts say, increases the risk of direct conflict with Russia and may lead to a reduction in the participation of European troops in other missions, such as the Balkans.
