The UK is ready to work to coordinate international assistance to ensure Ukraine’s successful fight for its independence, Healy said.
British Defense Minister John Healey came on a visit to Kyiv on December 18, where he discussed with Rustem Umerov a plan for long-term support for Ukraine. Ukrinform reported this on Wednesday, December 18.
During the meeting, the parties discussed a plan to strengthen Ukrainian defense not only for now, but also for 2025 and beyond.
The British minister said the Kremlin’s nuclear threats should not intimidate either Ukrainian or Western leaders.
“Putin will not scare us with his rhetoric or his actions related to development, we will continue to support Ukraine as long as necessary,” Healy emphasized.
He also emphasized that this is a clear signal to the Kremlin about the ineffectiveness of international support for Ukraine.
“Putin will not win, no matter how long it all takes. And our task is to strengthen Ukraine and give him more pressure,” added the minister.
Healy summarized that the UK is ready to engage with international assistance to ensure Ukraine’s successful fight for its independence.
Earlier, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said that London aims to strengthen Ukraine’s position by 2025, in particular, thanks to economic sanctions against Russia.
The UK government recently secretly supplied Ukraine with dozens of Storm Shadow cruise missiles.
