Enterprises of the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation no longer store fuel reserves in border areas. This was announced by the head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Belgorod Region, Sergei Potapov, at a press conference, RosSMI reported on Wednesday, December 18.
As mentioned, the decision to reduce stocks in fuel and lubricant storage bases was made by the regional operational headquarters after an airstrike on an oil depot on April 1, 2022.
“Today, in fact, our Belgorod oil depot is not used for fuel storage. In the border areas where such facilities are in businesses, the situation is the same – everything is empty,” said Potapov.
He added that fuel is delivered daily.
According to him, the reserves are now located in the rear areas with “proper protection measures.”
On the morning of April 1, 2022, as a result of an airstrike by the Ukrainian military, a fire broke out at an oil depot in Belgorod, where eight tanks burned. Fire is assigned to the second level of complexity.
