Despite the Biden administration, different theories are circulating regarding drones.
Congressman Jeff Van Drew suggests this could be an Iranian spy operation. He claims the drones could be launched from a “mother ship” off the Atlantic coast, citing unnamed senior sources.
Many congressional Republicans suspect espionage is behind these incidents. They believe the drones could be directed by China or Russia to collect data on US military installations and critical infrastructure. Chinese citizen Yinpiao Zhou was recently detained in California for flying a drone over Vandenberg Space Force Base.
Another hypothesis was expressed by former special forces soldier Clint Emerson in the New York Post: he believes that drones could be part of secret military testing. Such operations involving new technologies are carried out under the strictest secrecy.
