The United States has deployed additional military assets to the Middle East, including destroyers, missile defense systems and B-52 long-range bombers.
The US military said it conducted an airstrike on a command and control center used by the Houthis in Yemen. This was announced on Monday, December 16, by the US Central Command at Platform X.
“In Yemen, US Central Command forces conducted a targeted airstrike against a key Houthi-backed Houthi command and control facility in Houthi-controlled territory in the city of Sanaa, Yemen,” CENTCOM said in a statement.
According to the US military, the facility was used as a hub for coordinating Houthi operations, including attacks on US Navy warships and merchant ships in the southern Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.
In six months, the Yemeni Houthis have demonstrated the significant capabilities of their military arsenal. This is what US Deputy Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Logistics Bill LaPlante said.
As you know, in October, American bombers attacked weapons storage facilities in Yemen associated with the Houthis.
