The European Union must act against the background of the upcoming coming to power of the Donald Trump administration, the diplomat urged.

Moscow, not Kyiv, should be forced into peace negotiations, because the Kremlin is not pushing for peace. Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski announced this on Monday, December 16, DW reports.

“The distribution of tasks should be such that both the United States and the European Union help Ukraine achieve a better negotiating position for potential future negotiations, which the aggressor should encourage and force, not the victim,” said the politician.

According to him, the European Union needs to “move more” against the background of the upcoming coming to power of the Donald Trump administration.

Earlier, the Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzya, said that the Russian Federation would not be satisfied with any of the options for freezing the war in Ukraine.

Let’s remember that Trump considers ending the war in Ukraine as his top priority after taking office.

According to media reports, the team of the elected US President is talking to the White House and Ukrainian officials on ways to end the war with Russia.
