The United States of America transferred equipment to Ukraine to repair energy infrastructure.
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has donated 10 autonomous welding machines that will help quickly repair Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. The agency reported this on the social network X.
During Ukrainian winters, the rapid restoration of light and heat saves lives, USAID noted.
As you know, the last massive shelling of the energy sector took place on the night of December 13 – then the Russian occupiers launched 94 missiles and 193 UAVs. Immediately after this, five of Ukraine’s nine power units reduced power. Damage to equipment at DTEK thermal power plants was also recorded. Russia attacked Ukraine’s power grid the day after the IAEA resolution banning such strikes.
Let us recall that the Institute for the Study of War stated that a series of Russian strikes on Ukrainian energy facilities is part of a broader campaign aimed at freezing Ukraine in winter and making political decisions beneficial to the Kremlin.
