Two Russian tankers sank in the Kerch Strait

There are 13 crew members on board each tanker. The fate of these people is still unknown.

Two Russian tankers – Volganeft-212 and Volganeft-239 – sank in the Kerch Strait a few kilometers from the coast. Russian media wrote this in relation to eyewitnesses on Sunday, December 15.

It is indicated that in the morning strong waves broke the ships in half. First, the ship Volganeft-212, carrying more than 4 tons of fuel oil, was damaged, an hour later – Volganeft-239. There are 13 crew members on board each tanker. Their fate is still unknown.

The previous day, a typhoon warning was issued in the region. Wind gusts up to 22 m/s.

Earlier, the Seamark ship under the flag of the Comoros Islands sank in the Black Sea off the coast of the Krasnodar Territory. The wave height at the site of the accident in the Black Sea reached three meters. All 11 crew members were rescued.
