Mysterious drones have been observed in the USA for a month: what is known

Foreign officials deny the origin of the UAVs and say they pose no threat, although they do not elaborate on their origin. Trump called for shooting down these drones.

Residents of the American New Jersey, as well as several other states, have been observing flights of unknown drones for about a month. They worry people and spark heated debate about what flying objects actually are—and whether they’re really drones. The BBC reported this on Saturday, December 14.

Authorities have not been able to provide a definitive answer, saying only that the items are not believed to pose a risk to public or national security. So, on Thursday, White House national security spokesman John Kirby told reporters that available images indicate that many of the drones seen are in fact manned aircraft.

But some lawmakers have criticized the government for a lack of publicly available information and its more adversarial approach to mysterious drones.

US President-elect Donald Trump has called for them to be shot.

“Mysterious aircraft all over the country, can this really happen without our government knowing, and immediately, he wrote on his social network Truth Sosyal.

UAV flights, which are larger than typical commercial drones, are observed by New Jersey residents especially at night.

In late November, the US Air Force confirmed that unidentified drones had been spotted at three US air bases in the UK: RAF Lakenheath and RAF Mildenhall in Suffolk and RAF Feltwell in Norfolk.

UK defense sources told the BBC that a “state actor responsible for the invasion” was suspected of the actions.

In October, the Wall Street Journal also reported that mysterious drones had been seen near US military installations in Virginia for 17 days.

The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) released a statement saying that people are noticing more drones in the sky as their use becomes more popular.

They emphasized that not a single case has been recorded in the closed airspace and also denied the threat posed by these drones to national security.

Some congressmen suggest that China or Iran are behind the drone launches. However, the Pentagon and the White House insist that these items are not of foreign origin.

Congressmen are also proposing shooting down and analyzing these UAVs to determine their origins and intentions.

New Jersey Gov. sent a letter. Phil Murphy to President Joe Biden on December 13, calling on federal agencies to “work together to solve this mystery” and asking Congress to give local law enforcement powers to combat drones.

Some residents said they may take action against the drones themselves. However, the authorities have now categorically warned against it, insisting that it is against the law.

We remind you that in Germany flights of unknown drones were recorded in an industrial zone in Schleswig-Holstein. According to the media, they may have been launched by Russian agents.

Subsequently, unidentified drones were spotted at three UK air bases.
