The M113 armored personnel carrier has been enhanced with a new Ukrainian-made combat module.
Ukrainian gunsmiths have beefed up the firepower of this armored personnel carrier, which the Defense Forces are receiving as part of international assistance from Western allies. A Tavria 14.5/7.62 remote-controlled module was specially manufactured for the M113. The weapons were mounted on the armor. The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine announced this on December 13 in Telegram.
Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Dmitry Klimenkov said that the combat module consists of two machine guns of 14.5 and 7.62 mm caliber. The design is created in such a way that the machine gunner fires from inside the armored vehicle, observing the battlefield through the monitor.
Let us recall that in November the Ukrainian Armored Vehicles company tested a 30-mm automatic cannon from the Sich serial combat module on its new Varta-2 armored combat vehicle.
