Most Belarusian citizens believe that their military should not help Russia in its so -called “special operation”, according to the Chatham House Belarusian Initiative.
Most Belarusians are sure that the Belarusian army should not fight against Ukraine. In particular, this opinion was shared by 95% of respondents surveyed by the Belarusian organization Initiative Chatham House. This was announced by its director Grigory Astapenya on Friday, July 8.
“The attitude of Belarusians to Russia’s war in Ukraine remains negative,” he said.
According to him, support for Russia among the citizens of Belarus is gradually disappearing.
“The number of people who believe it is necessary to support Russia’s actions is declining (from 28% in March to 23% in June 2022). And not many people believe that Belarus should take part in the battles on Russia’s side. – 5 %”, summary of Astapene.
