The complaint was dismissed because no other court could review the decision of the Constitutional Court.

Romania’s High Court of Cassation rejected far-right politician George Simion’s appeal against the Constitutional Court’s decision to annul the results of the first round of the presidential election. Realitatea reported it.

The complaint was dismissed because no other court could review the decision of the Constitutional Court. The court called the politician’s complaint “unacceptable”.

Let’s recall that in Romania, the pro-Russian far-right politician Calin Georgescu won the presidential election in the first round.

On December 6, the Romanian Constitutional Court annulled the results of the first round of presidential elections. The reason for the cancellation of the results was Russian interference and cyber attacks. Now the country must call new elections.
