German Chancellor Olaf Scholz will hold another conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The head of the German government announced his desire to call the Russian dictator again. He noted that the past dialogue was unpleasant. Scholz stated this in the annual review of the German television channel RTL, Die Zeit reports.
It was unpleasant because he just told all his narratives again,” he noted.
According to the chancellor, the conversation with Putin was necessary to make him understand that one cannot hope for a weakening of German support for Ukraine. Scholz also wanted to convince the occupier to withdraw Russian troops from Ukrainian territory.
This is why Scholz wants to have another conversation with the war criminal Putin. However, he does not believe that this conversation will radically change anything.
It needs to be done and I will do it again. But we should have no illusions,” the chancellor said.
Let us recall that the other day German Chancellor Olaf Scholz expressed confidence in the possibility of reaching agreements with the newly elected US President Donald Trump regarding a general strategy to support Ukraine.
