Turn on electricity for subscribers in Russian-occupied Abkhazia from 07:00 to 21:00 for just 1 hour and 24 minutes.

Residents of Russian-occupied Abkhazia have had their electricity supply cut. Inguri hydroelectric power station stopped due to lack of water. This was reported by the local company Chernomorenergo on Wednesday, December 11.

According to the published schedule, electricity will be turned on for subscribers from 07:00 to 21:00 for only 1 hour 24 minutes.

Earlier, Chernomorenergo announced the forced suspension of the Inguri hydroelectric power station due to “critical water levels in the reservoir.”

The occupation administration announced that the situation could worsen if funds could not be found to pay for the flow of Russia.

“Inguri HPP” is the most powerful hydroelectric power station in Georgia, commissioned in 1978. The dam, water intake and part of the tunnel are located in the territory controlled by the Georgian authorities; part of the tunnel, the control panel and the hydroelectric power station building are on the Abkhaz side. Abkhazia receives 40% of the electricity produced at the station free of charge throughout the year.

We remind you that the “president” of the unrecognized republic of Abkhazia, Aslan Bzhania, said he resigned amid protests over an “investment agreement” with Russia.

Earlier, NATO declared full support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia and called on Russia to withdraw its troops from the territory of South Ossetia and Abkhazia.
