Israeli missile boats destroyed Syrian ships carrying anti-ship missiles in Latakia province, the sources said.
Israel has carried out a massive operation to remove ships that once belonged to Syrian government forces. This was reported by The Times of Israel on Tuesday, December 10.
“Last night, the Israeli Navy carried out a major operation to destroy the military fleet of the former regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad,” the report said, citing sources.
Israeli missile boats are said to have destroyed several Syrian ships carrying anti-ship missiles located in Latakia province, including in the port of Latakia.
The purpose of the attack was to prevent the Syrian Navy from possibly falling to the Israeli enemy forces.
Let’s remember that on December 8, Israeli ground forces for the first time since the October War of 1973 openly entered Syrian territory, crossing the border demilitarized zone. Israeli authorities called it a temporary measure.
And now the media reported that the Israeli military has advanced deeper into Syrian territory and is now separated from the capital Damascus by approximately 25 km. The movement of troops is accompanied by active strikes against military targets.
