The aggressor country Russia has increased the number of air attacks on Ukraine
Last fall, the Russian Federation fired more than 6 thousand drones and missiles into Ukraine. This is three times more than in the previous three months and four times more than in the fall of 2023.
It is noted that over the past six months, an average of 1,343 rounds of ammunition were produced daily, compared to 622 in the previous six months.
The article indicates that Ukraine’s ability to intercept missiles has improved after deteriorating earlier this year. In October, air defenses intercepted 93% of all drones, as well as just over 8% of ballistic and hypersonic missiles. And in November, the rate of interception of ballistic and hypersonic missiles rose to more than 40%.
The WSJ writes that 92% of all long-range munitions fired last fall were UAVs and decoys—cheap decoys used to exhaust Ukrainian air defenses.
Journalists reported that Russia can launch such a large number of drones across Ukraine thanks to a plant in Tatarstan, where it produces about 1,200 Shaheds monthly.
Let us remind you that the Russian occupiers launched 37 Shahed-type attack UAVs and other types of drones from Orel and Primorsko-Akhtarsk. Air defense operated in nine areas and shot down 18 enemy drones. Another 18 Russian drones were lost.
