The prime minister called for the maintenance of “all Syrian state institutions” and noted his willingness to support further governance of the country.

Syrian Prime Minister Muhammad Ghazi al-Jalali said he is ready to cooperate with any leadership elected by the Syrian people and take all necessary steps for the transfer of power. It was reported by Al Arabiya on Sunday, December 8th.

“This country can be normal, a country that builds good relations with its neighbors and the whole world (…). But this issue has to be decided by the leadership that will be elected by the Syrian people. We are ready to work with them to ensure all possible conditions,” al-Jalali said.

He called for the preservation of “all Syrian state institutions” and emphasized his willingness to support further governance of the country.

At the same time, the prime minister noted that he does not need any positions or privileges, and assured that he remains in his home and does not intend to leave it.

In turn, the AFP agency, citing the words of the rebel leader, reports that government institutions in Damascus will remain under the control of the prime minister until the official transfer of power.

Let us recall that the command of the Syrian army informed the officials that the reign of Bashar al-Assad has ended.

Earlier, the media reported that the rebels entered the Syrian capital, Damascus, and took control of the international airport and administrative buildings in various areas of the city.
