Austria is ready to be the venue for negotiations between Ukraine and the Russian Federation, said Chancellor Karl Nehammer.
Vienna is ready to host future peace negotiations between Ukraine and Russia as the capital of a neutral country. This is what Austria’s Federal Chancellor Karl Nehammer said on social network X following a meeting with Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky.
“We spoke about intensifying our joint efforts to achieve a comprehensive, just and lasting peace. As the capital of a neutral country, Vienna is always ready to host future peace negotiations,” Nehammer wrote .
The Austrian Chancellor mentioned that in the conversation with the President of Ukraine they discussed what will happen next when there is an opportunity to talk about peace again.
“I proposed Austria as a place for such negotiations. In the past, I spoke with American President-elect Donald Trump. We are doing everything possible to build bridges, especially when it comes to how to restore peace on the European continent,” added Nehammer.
We remind you that on December 7, Zelensky met with Nehammer as part of his visit to Paris. The head of state invited Austria to join the G7 declaration of support for Ukraine.
