Troop commanders received new general ranks. The corresponding decrees were issued by the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky on December 5, 2024.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports on new generals.
In particular, the rank of major general was awarded to brigadier generals Alexander Sergeevich Trepak, commander of the Special Operations Forces, and Igor Anatolyevich Skibnyuk, commander of the Air Assault Forces.
The rank of brigadier general was awarded to Colonel Nikolai Dmitrievich Palas, Deputy Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and Colonel Dmitry Vladimirovich Bratishko, Commander of the Vostok Operational Command of the Ground Forces.
Alexander Trepak is 48 years old (call sign “Redut”). He began his career in the army in 1993, during which he managed to occupy a number of positions in intelligence units.
From March 23, 2016 to November 3, 2020 – commander of the 3rd separate special forces regiment of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
At the end of 2020, he was appointed chief of staff and deputy commander of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. And on May 9, 2024, he was appointed commander of the Special Operations Forces.
Igor Skibnyuk began serving in 1998 in the 80th separate air assault brigade as a platoon commander. As of 2022, he commanded the 80th separate air assault brigade.
He was appointed to the post of deputy commander of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. And on February 11, 2024, he became commander of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Nikolai Palace graduated from the Odessa Institute of Ground Forces in 2001. After that, he served in the 25th separate airborne brigade of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
From 2018 to 2021, he commanded the newly formed 35th Separate Marine Brigade. Starting in 2021, he became Deputy Commander of the Marine Corps of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Dmitry Bratyshko served as deputy commander of the 80th separate air assault brigade in 2015-2018. In 2018-2021 he commanded the Lithuanian-Polish-Ukrainian brigade.
In 2022, he headed the 95th separate air assault brigade in Polesie, and later became chief of staff – deputy commander of the air assault forces.
