Iran, according to IAEA standards, already has enough uranium enriched to 60% for four nuclear warheads.
The head of the IAEA, Rafael Grossi, said that Iran is dramatically increasing the amount of uranium enriched to 60%, almost 90% of weapons-grade levels. He said this in an interview with Reuters.
It is noted that such actions by Iran cause more concern in Western capitals, where they already argue that there is no justification for Iran enriching uranium to such a level, since no other country has taken such a step or pursued the goal of creating a nuclear bomb, its creation in Iran, in fact, was denied. According to IAEA standards, Iran already has enough uranium enriched to 60% for four nuclear warheads.
“Right now, the agency announced that production capacity is increasing significantly from the 60% inventory level,” Grossi said on the sidelines of the Security Dialogue conference in Manama, the capital of Bahrain.
According to him, the production has increased – “seven to eight times or maybe more” compared to the previous figure, which was 5-7 kg per month.
Grossi reported that Iran’s move was his own “disappointment” because after a trip to Iran last month, he said Tehran heard his request to limit stockpiles of enriched uranium to 60%, which would help ease of diplomatic tensions, Grossi called it a “concrete step in the right direction.” However, at the same time, diplomats said that Iran’s agreement, which indicates preparation for the introduction of such a restriction, is due to the fact that the Board of Governors of the IAEA has promised not to adopt a resolution directed against to Iran for its lack of cooperation. to the agency, but still accepted the Council’s resolution.
Let’s remember that Iran, contrary to international requirements, has again increased its uranium reserves, enriched almost to the level of weapons level.
The media also reported that Iran’s nuclear program is military-oriented. Information from the intelligence services of the Netherlands, Sweden, Germany and Denmark indicates that Tehran has plans to create nuclear weapons.
