EU ambassadors were unable to agree on the 15th package of sanctions against Russia.
Reuters writes that it expects sanctions against tankers transporting Russian oil.
The adoption of the package has been blocked due to disagreements over extending the deadline given to European companies to withdraw investments from Russia. EU members will subsequently return to the package.
As part of the package, the continuation of the EU exception was discussed, allowing the Czech Republic to continue to import diesel fuel and other products derived from Russian oil and produced at the Slovak refinery. Although the Czech Republic is not seeking to extend the permit, Slovakia is calling for it.
