A state of emergency has been introduced in Moldova in the country’s energy sector due to the crisis, which threatens to stop electricity supplies, and more. This is what the Prime Minister of Moldova Dorin Recean said, reports TV8 and NewsMaker.
The prime minister of the country also announced the resignation of the Minister of Energy, Viktor Parlikov, who explained it by management mistakes that led to a critical situation. Recan added that he will temporarily assume the duties of Energy Minister until a new leader is appointed.
The prime minister warned of the possibility of a partial or complete stoppage of energy supplies.
According to him, the state of emergency in the energy sector will allow the government to quickly make decisions, including possible restrictions on energy exports.
The President of Moldova, Maia Sandu, has already signed the corresponding order to remove the Minister of Energy.
The Prime Minister of Moldova also called for the dismissal of the head of Energocom, Victor Binzari, accused of improperly managing gas purchases. And also a member of the supervisory board of Moldovagaz, Sergei Tofilat, who, according to Rechan, blocked profitable gas purchases.
Earlier, the Prime Minister of the country called on the citizens to be prepared for the increase in gas charges.
