Salome Zurabishvili shared a video message from the President of Ukraine and said: “You can’t say it better.”
Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili welcomed the decision of Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky to impose sanctions against a certain part of Georgian government representatives. He wrote this on the social network X on Thursday, December 5.
Zurabishvili shared a video message from Zelensky and said: “you can’t say it better,” expressing full support for the Ukrainian president’s decision.
He also mentioned the threat of Russia in the Black Sea region. “Russia is trying to regain control of the Black Sea,” Zurabishvili wrote.
We remind you that Zelensky signed a decree implementing the decision of the National Security and Defense Council to impose sanctions against the founder of the Georgian Dream party Bidzina Ivanishvili and 19 of his accomplices. The sanctions will be in effect for 10 years.
As you know, on November 28, the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, announced that Georgia was rejecting EU accession negotiations until 2028. This led to mass protests. The police used tear gas and water cannons against the protesters.
