The SBU exposed the administrator of one of the Telegram channels for draft dodgers in cooperation with the Russian FSB.
Counterintelligence of the Security Service exposed the organizer of schemes for drug evaders in cooperation with the Russian FSB. The SBU press service reported this on Thursday, December 5.
SBU officers stopped him in August this year, when he tried to swim with fins in a section of the Dnieper River on the border with Belarus to cross into the Russian Federation.
During the investigation, SBU investigators received evidence that the person involved was in contact with representatives of the enemy’s intelligence service, deliberately interfered with the mobilization in Ukraine and, after escaping to Russia, planned to participate in the information and psychological operations of the FSB.
The defendant turned out to be a 52-year-old resident of the Zhitomir region, a former representative of the banned Derzhava party, who was recruited remotely by the Kremlin’s intelligence service.
At the direction of the FSB, the agent first managed the existing and then created a network of new Telegram channels where he gave detailed instructions to those liable for military service on how to avoid conscription. In particular, he suggested that draft dodgers flee Russia via pre-prepared routes “bypassing” checkpoints.
To develop escape routes through forest passes or bodies of water, the agent scouts relevant sections of the state border, marks them on maps and forwards them to his clients. .
After fleeing to Russia, the man planned to participate in information and psychological operations of the FSB. In the live broadcasts of the enemy propagandists, he allegedly, on behalf of the ordinary citizens of Ukraine, should discredit the state institutions of our country.
Security Service investigators informed him of suspicion of treason committed under martial law. The case materials have been sent to the court. The attacker is in custody. He faces life imprisonment with confiscation of assets.
We remind you that in Transcarpathia a law enforcement officer was exposed for helping men cross the state border for $10,000.
