Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Gerasimov called the head of the US Army Brown after the Oreshnik strike.
The publication notes that the conversation took place on November 27, 6 days after the Oreshnik missile struck the Dnieper. In particular, Gerasimov said that the ballistic missile launch was allegedly planned long before the Biden administration allowed Ukraine to use ATACMS to strike deep into Russia.
ABC News writes that Gerasimov called the American general to warn about the testing of hypersonic missiles in the eastern Mediterranean.
He invited the American ships to retreat to a safe distance. On December 3, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced this test publicly, which took place in the eastern Mediterranean Sea.
This is the second call during a full-scale war.
ABC and the New York Times are reporting the contents of the conversation, according to anonymous Pentagon sources. Brown’s spokesman, Capt. Jeryl Dorsey, confirmed the call and added that “at the request of General Gerasimov, General Brown agreed not to announce the contents of the call on his own initiative.”
Moscow has not yet reported anything about this conversation.
