The Verkhovna Rada agreed to summon Defense Minister Rustem Umerov in connection with the scandals regarding the purchase of mines. People’s Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak announced this on Tuesday, December 3.
“Defense Minister Rustem Umerov was summoned to the Rada regarding scandals regarding defense orders (in particular, mines),” Zheleznyak said.
As the representative of the people clarified, 153 parliamentarians voted for the corresponding decision (150+ are needed to agree on a procedural decision).
Let’s recall that earlier the Ministry of Defense said that it was actively investigating the reasons for the supply of low-quality 120-mm mines to the front. Subsequently, it became known that approximately 24 thousand mines of 120 mm caliber from the Ukrainian manufacturer, which turned out to be defective, were subject to return.
