German Chancellor Olaf Scholz arrived on Monday on his first visit to Ukraine in 2.5 years. He announced that Germany will provide Ukraine with military equipment worth 650 million euros.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who arrived in Kyiv on the morning of Monday, December 2, attracted the attention of journalists, including the large silver suitcase he was carrying.
Ukrainians on social networks began to actively share assumptions about what exactly the politician put in his suitcase, from nuclear weapons to a mini-Taurus.
At a press conference in Kyiv following a meeting with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, Scholz was asked what was in the suitcase in which he went to Ukraine.
“How much detail do you want to know?” asked Scholz.
This statement from the Chancellor made those present and, especially, President Zelensky laugh.
“These are the things you take with you on the road what you need to change to… well, what you need,” added the German Chancellor.
Also, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, in a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, explained why he recently called Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, despite the fact that the latter does not want to end the war.
Scholz announced the provision of a new package of military support to Ukraine in the amount of 650 million euros.
