Sooner or later Ukraine will regain the territories occupied by the Russian Federation, including the Ukrainian peninsula.
Ukraine cannot remove the annexation of Crimea by military means, because it does not have the strength to do so. However, the peninsula can be returned through diplomatic means. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said this on Monday, December 2, in an interview with Kyodo News.
“Putin should know that we will return all our lands and preferably by diplomatic means, because it reduces the number of victims but Crimea is strategically important not only for us, it is strategic in principle for world in the sea of Cherny,” said the president.
He emphasized that solutions should be sought for a just end to the war, where clear security guarantees for Ukraine would be outlined.
“We must make sure that Ukraine starts a diplomatic settlement with a strong position. We do not have enough strength to return Crimea. Yes, we have to find diplomatic ways, but only after we know that we are very strong the Russians will not come back with aggression,” Zelensky said.
We remind you that on the night of December 2, drones attacked three regions of Russia and the temporarily occupied Crimea. The Russian air defense system reportedly shot down 15 drones.
