Nikolaev has been left without electricity for the second day due to a Russian attack on the energy system.
The mayor of the city, Alexander Senkevich, announced this today, November 29, in his Telegram channel,
Our power engineers are doing everything and looking for solutions to restore power supply. Our utilities are on site. We are working to provide the city with both heat and water. However, do not forget that this work also depends on electricity, he emphasized.
Senkevich noted that public transport continues to operate in the city – additional routes have been released, and trolleybuses with an autonomous range of 20 km are also running.
In addition, all medical institutions in Nikolaev are operating as usual.
We have deployed heating points where you can recharge your mobile devices. There are also water dispensing points where you can get purified water, he noted.
Senkevich also said that due to a power outage there are problems with the operation of traffic lights.
44 traffic lights in Nikolaev are equipped with uninterruptible power supplies, that is, they can work during a power outage for eight, and sometimes more, hours. But! These sources also need to be recharged. Yesterday, the traffic lights worked for more than 8 hours, and sometimes 12 hours – as long as the power was enough,” he said.
Therefore, regulators work in busy areas.
