An agent of the Russian Federal Security Service was detained in Nikolaev.
A former local university teacher worked for the invaders, correcting enemy missile and drone attacks on the regional center. The traitor tried to detect air defense combat positions in order to direct Russian missiles to “bypass” them. The SBU press center reported this on November 29.
With the help of this “observation post,” the attacker also hoped to track the approximate number and types of Ukrainian troops moving in the direction of the front line.
The traitor was detained in his house, and during the searches, a mobile phone, a video camera and a flash drive were confiscated from him with evidence of reconnaissance and subversive activities in favor of the aggressor country.
He has already been informed of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 111 (high treason committed under martial law) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The defendant faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
Let us remind you that the Russian FSB was planning a large-scale sabotage in the Kirovograd region. A 21-year-old local resident, recruited by the occupiers, tried to burn down an electrical substation that supplies a military airfield and other strategic facilities in the region.
