Polish Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz announced this decision during the celebration of Polish Navy Day.
The head of the Polish Ministry of Defense, Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysh, announced that he decided to create an army of drones at the beginning of 2025. This was reported by the Polish radio RMF24.
On Thursday, November 28, Kosiniak-Kamysz, during the celebration of Polish Navy Day, announced that he decided to create an army of drones at the beginning of 2025.
The unmanned forces will have air, land, surface and submarine ships. The last two categories of ships will also be used in the Navy.
Kosiniak-Kamysh pointed out the need to have a good strategy in place to prepare for the mass production of the latest generation of drones, the demand for which he estimates is increasing weekly.
According to him, “drones cannot be bought for future use,” but it is necessary to have a certain pool of available aircraft “in difficult situations.”
Earlier, Kosiniak-Kamysz said that Poland will allocate a record amount for defense in 2025 – 186.6 billion zlotys, which is $48 billion.
