Experts noted that the snowfall in Seoul was the third heaviest since records began in 1907.
South Korea continues to struggle with heavy snowfall, with at least five deaths reported. It was reported by Reuters.
One person died and two were injured on a golf course when a net filled with snow fell on them. Another person was killed when a protective awning in the car park collapsed in a similar manner.
On the highway east of Seoul, due to bad weather, there was a serious accident involving 53 vehicles, which also killed two people and injured 11.
This is the third snowfall in Seoul since records began in 1907.
About one and a half hundred flights had to be canceled due to bad weather. Seoul’s main airport, Incheon, was the hardest hit.
In addition, ferry service was suspended, and trains were massively delayed.
The unusually heavy snow in November was caused by higher than normal sea temperatures and cold air currents.
Snowfall also hit neighboring North Korea.
We previously wrote that the heaviest snowfall in the past 117 years occurred in the capital of South Korea, Seoul, and surrounding regions on Wednesday, November 27th.
