Production includes not only aerial, but also land and sea drones. The drones will be supplied to Ukraine, the countries of the European Union and NATO.
An enterprise will be built in Finland to produce drones for the needs of Ukraine and the EU. The start of mass production of drones is planned for the first half of 2025. This was reported by the press service of the Summa Defense company.
It was noted that the main purpose of the new plant is the rapid expansion of the production capacity for drones used in combat operations in Ukraine, as well as the launch of their mass production in Finland and Europe.
According to Summa Defense Ltd CEO Jussi Holopainen, the drones will be supplied not only to Ukraine, but also to the countries of the European Union and NATO. They will be an important element of civil, defense and security systems.
To implement the project, Summa Defense is creating a subsidiary, Summa Drones Ltd, which will lead a joint venture with Ukrainian partners. Among the Ukrainian participants are Kort, Elf Systems, Skyassist and MPS Development. Production includes not only aerial, but also land and sea drones.
Let’s recall that in September Finland announced that it would provide Ukraine with the 25th package of military aid. The total amount of military aid to Ukraine provided by Finland since the beginning of the war amounted to 2.3 billion euros.
It has also been reported that Ukraine and Finland have created a civil defense coalition to build a system of modern shelters.
