The city council of the Lithuanian capital allowed Ukrainians to travel for free on public transport for another year.
Ukrainian refugees in Vilnius have been extended the opportunity to travel free of charge on the capital’s public transport for another year. The LRT announced this on Wednesday, November 27.
It was noted that the decision was fully approved by the council of the capital city.
Ukrainian refugees can use public transport free of charge from March 2022. Vilnius authorities made this decision after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, when thousands of Ukrainians arrived in Lithuania.
Other big cities in Lithuania have made similar decisions.
It was previously reported that Ukrainian refugees in Lithuania will be given a one-time payment of 176 euros.
Meanwhile, in Norway, the automatic acceptance of protection for Ukrainian refugees from six regions – Lviv, Volyn, Transcarpathian, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil and Rivne regions has been cancelled.
