“Last night and this morning, several of President Trump’s Cabinet nominees, as well as administration appointees, were the victims of violent and ‘un-American’ threats to their lives, as well as the lives of those who live with them ,” a transition. Team Caroline Levitt spokeswoman said Wednesday.
He noted that this covers everything from bomb threats to police calls to victims’ addresses under false pretenses.
“In response, law enforcement and other agencies responded quickly to ensure the safety of those targeted. President Trump and the entire transition team are grateful for their swift action,” Leavitt said.
It was clarified that among the people who experienced threats were Congresswoman Elise Stefanik, who was chosen by Trump as the next ambassador to the UN; Matt Gaetz, who is running for attorney general; former Congressman Lee Zeldin, who is slated to head the Environmental Protection Agency.
Earlier it was reported that a polling station employee was jailed in the United States for making threats to discourage voters.
