Ukraine received $4.8 billion from the World Bank

During the war, a total of nearly $50 billion was raised through World Bank mechanisms.

Prime Minister Denis Shymgal reported that Ukraine received $4.8 billion from the World Bank as part of the PEACE project.

“This is the largest investment project in the history of the bank, launched to support our state in the implementation of reforms, social and educational fields, health care, agricultural producers, as well as restoration projects ,” he said.

According to Shmygal, during a massive war, a total of almost $50 billion was raised through World Bank mechanisms.

“We are very grateful to the United States and development partners who are funding assistance under the PEACE project. Thanks to the World Bank for its continued participation and active support in initiatives that strengthen Ukraine,” emphasized of the prime minister.

Let’s recall that on November 8, Ukraine and the World Bank entered into a grant agreement to raise approximately $1.37 billion within the framework of the PEACE project in Ukraine to finance social and humanitarian expenses.

The World Bank will also create a special fund for Ukraine, its size will be at least $10 billion.
